Editorial Policy

Trust is the whole point of a travel guide. This page explains who writes China Must See, how each guide is produced, and what we do when we get something wrong.
Who Writes This Site
Every guide on China Must See is written and reviewed by Yubin Long (龙宇斌), the site's founder and editor-in-chief. Yubin is China-based and has spent years helping foreign friends, students, and families navigate China — from pre-arrival setup (visa, SIM, payments) to on-the-ground routes. This is a one-person, accountable editorial operation, not an anonymous content farm.
How We Create Content
- Research — We start from official sources: government tourism boards, embassy/consulate visa pages, transit operators, and verified booking platforms.
- First-hand verification — Where possible, practical details (app behavior, payment quirks, opening hours) are confirmed by someone recently on the ground.
- Human drafting & editing — Articles are drafted and then read, fact-checked, and edited by a human editor before publication.
- Publishing — Only after a final review does a guide go live.
Our Use of AI Tools
Like many modern publishers, we sometimes use AI assistive tools to help with drafting, translation, and routine editing. Every article is read and edited by a human (Yubin) before it is published, and AI is never the sole author of a published guide. Where a factual claim matters, it is checked against primary sources — not taken on faith from a model.
Sourcing & Links
We link to primary sources (official sites, operators) so readers can verify details themselves. When we recommend a product or service, the basis is usefulness to travelers; qualifying links may be affiliate links, disclosed in our Disclaimer.
Corrections & Updates
Travel information goes stale — prices rise, visa rules change, a restaurant closes. We review and update guides periodically, and we fix mistakes quickly when they are flagged. Spotted an error?
- Email [email protected]
- We aim to review corrections within a few business days and update the page with a note where material.
Conflicts of Interest
We disclose affiliate relationships and label sponsored content. Commercial considerations never change our factual recommendations. Editorial independence is non-negotiable.
